Does the Duncan Custom, either standard or trembucker, come with long or short mounting legs? I need long to direct mount it to the guitar

Re: Duncan Custom Question- long or short legs?

Actually, in most cases short should work just as well, because w/ direct mounting you´re still using screws and springs to keep the pickup height adjustable... you may need longer screws and springs depending on the rout it´s going in, though.

Standard I THINK is short on the TB and long on the SH, but I´m not sure, never owned a non-trem custom before, only a few others....

But I also think that in the worst case you should be able to get either type with either length as a shop floor custom for a minimal upcharge ;)

Re: Duncan Custom Question- long or short legs?

I'm building an EVH 5150 style baretta out of Korina, the luthier told me it was an EXACT duplicate of Eddie's down to the depth of the pickup route. I popped in a Gibson PAF with long legs, and it's the same distance from the strings as my Ernie Ball Axis is.

Oh- and springs aren't used, just screwing the pickup directly to the body using long pickup mounting ring screws. If the pickup's not high enough I shim it.

I don't know if direct mounting does much in passive pickups, but with EMG's there is a huge difference if the bottom of the pickup comes in direct contact with the guitar, even if you shim it.
