Duncan Custom vs. Duncan Distortion

Ive basically narrowed down my choices to those 2 models for the music I like to play, from metal to punk I need something with bite. What are two major differences between the D Custom and the D Distortion other than the fact that Distortion isnt going to have much of a clean clean feel to it... I can always use my neck for that anyways

I also forgot to mention I have a Strat with an Alder body, so I dont know how that would also effect each pups performance.

Well surprise, surprise, the Distortion and Custom can both do clean rather nicely. The Custom is PAF on steroids, just like the description says. It makes me think of a 59 or Seth with lots more output and bottom end. If you find the lower-ouput pups to be annoyingly nasal, but like the 'tude, you'd love the Custom. Perfect Hard Rock pickup.

DD trashy, JB harmonics, Custom aggressive, all will do metal very well.
