Duncan Designed Detonator Mod

I have a set of the HB108 Detonators. They were pretty dark sounding. I removed one row of screws, took the solid slugs out of an old parts pickup, and they fit like a glove!
The #10-32 screws they use have an outside diameter of 3/16" (.1875") the same as many solid pole pieces.
I haven't tried. but my guess is that you could do the same with an Invader and brighten it up some.

You can also do a magnet swap, or wire it in parallel. Also, switching to 1 meg pots can also help.

Re: Duncan Designed Detonator Mod

After the pole piece change they were a little too bright. LOL. Extremes. So I pulled these pickups apart and removed the magnets. They are approx .220" thick. And SUPER strong. I had another set of ceramics that weren't nearly as strong, but only .180" thick, so I've cut some shims and put under them. I'll post on how it sounds after I check that out.

I've attached a few pics of the slugs/screws and the measurements on a dial caliper.
Standard 3/16" dia. x 1/2" long slugs (.187" x .500"), and the socket head set screws are #10-32 x 1/2".
