I had a DK2 with EMG 81 bridge and the two DD singles and if I hadn't sold it I'd have left the pups as they were. The two single coils sounded really nice.
Asian single coils are much better than their HB's, less for them to screw up. But regardless, you're not going to get the same quality of materials, workmanship, or consistency as you will with an American or European-made PU. Which means you won't get the clarity, depth, and articulation. I think with HB's you're much better off getting used American or European PU online, which usually go for around half price. Do not confuse "Duncan Designed" with real Seymour Duncan HB's, they have very little in common. With Asian SC's, you may be able to live with them for a while, maybe indefinitely.
I would go along with the Blue man here too. Stop asking questions about this guitar, go buy it. If you find it lacks that little magic, buy a cheap, used, JB, and you'll have a really, really cool guitar. :1:
If, at a later date you want more bite for solos in the neck position, get a Hot Rails or Lil 59.
Hey, I just remembered, I've got a cheap, used JB lying around here that I haven't put on ebay yet!
hb103 is the distortion set
If he will go with the 300 I'll get it. Then I'll have added to my collection. It will be my first Jackson guitar.
Hey found that the Jackson DK2 had "duncan designed" pickups in it. What kind are they and are they any good?? Compared to original SD Pups???:scratchch
