Duncan Designed TE 101B

Hi guys, I have a question concerning this pickup as far as the installation is concerned. I just ordered one on E-Bay which I'm going to install in my Squier Affinity Butterscotch Telecaster. What I'd like to know if is there a certain way to install this so I can get a equal volume from both the neck and bridge pickup ? Any help would be appreciated.

IMO, with vintage style single coil Tele pickups, you never really get equal output across the full frequency spectrum. The treble pickup is bass light. The neck pickup is bass heavy. When you select both of them, the overall sound fills out.

I cannot suggest distance figures between the strings and the polepieces without some idea of what your neck PU is and how it is adjusted.

The neck pickup is a stock Squier Affinity Tele neck, which is ceramic just like the Duncan Design .

The TE-101b that I briefly owned had individual rod magnet polepieces and a metal baseplate. No ceramic bar anywhere to be seen.

A TE-101n that I still possess is also individual rod magnets rather than an underslung bar. :scratchch

Well when it comes in, I guess I'll install it as if it were a standard Telecaster setup and see what happens.

Every guitar is different... Therefore, every guitar is going to have the pickups installed at different heights. Play around with the heights until it sounds right.
