Duncan designed vs Duncan Distortion wiring

First post here.

I bought a used Jackson RRXT, which came with Duncan Designed pickups. I want to replace the bridge pickup with an old Duncan Distortion, but I'm curious about the wiring. The Design pickup uses the green wire which connects to the toggle switch and the ground wire goes to the volume pot. White and red are taped off and not used.

What would the wiring connection be for the Duncan Distortion?

All RR models are wired by default as 1 master volume and (2) separate tone controls. I'm fine with that, but I just want to replace the bridge pickup.

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks

Same color scheme, but the mags are flipped on the DDs compared to the USA version. If you're going to use both a DD and USA together in the same guitar, then you'll have to flip the mag OR reverse the wires on one of the pickups if you want to remain in phase when using the combo pickup selection.

Do you mean flip the magnet, etc if I'm using the pickups at the same time or even just using them separately (bridge only etc)?
What would the wiring difference be?

Thanks!

It would matter only when both pickups are played together; not when they are played alone. Wire the USA Duncan black hot/green ground. And wire the DD green hot/black ground and you should be good to go. You won't have to mess with the magnets that way.

Excellent, thanks!
I need to contact Customer Svc re: a new pickup base they replaced for me. I think the "legs" are too long, so it sits too high in the pickup cavity. I would have to raise the tailpiece much higher for this to sit right. Here's a side by side pic with an Epiphone humbucker. SideBySide.jpg

Ahh, you have to ask for 'short legs'.

Ohhhhhh, wasn't aware of that option. They didn't ask when I sent it in. Definitely need to send it back then :)

Thanks for that info!
