Duncan Distortion...a disappointment

Re: Duncan Distortion...a disappointment

I`ve got the Distortion in a Strat at the moment. The tone is Fat and heavy with some serious crunch. The tone really wasn`t what I was looking for but I might hang on to the DD for another guitar. The pickup and pole pieces did take a little tweaking in height to sound it`s best , there was no mud to be found!

OK...as an update. Tested the Duncan Distortion with multimeter and it's fine.
Dropped it into a Epi Les Paul and it sounded great! I think this pup just doesn't like strats. A big difference between the two! Will keep it in the Paul.

There you go dropping it again! :smack:

It's easy to get a crunchy sound of the Distortion. It would be a task to make it sound muddy.

Awful cleans, but that's what you get when you want a balls to the wall high-output rocker of a pickup.
