duncan distortion and ???

i have a schecter scorpion that had the duncan designed version of the distortion (it's also f-spaced) i strung that guitar with 10-52's and found that the pickup responds perfectly for my playing style. i wanted to know if i put a DD trembucker in my ibanez iceman, will it still sound the same response (mainly the treble)? keep in mind the scorpion has a mahogany body, mahogany neck, and a 26 3/4" scale length, and the ibanez has a mahogany body, maple neck, and 24 3/4" scale length.

i'm also a little unsure of what to use for a neck pickup. my first thought was a jazz, but i also thought about the paf joe. or maybe a 59...what will give me that jerry cantrell-neck pickup sound, like from "sea of sorrow" or "no excuses"?

Re: duncan distortion and ???

Changing your current pickups to a set with a 59N or Jazz neck and Distortion TB will improve the tone of your guitar tremendously...so to answer your question: "NO". Your Ibanez guitar will not sound the same as your Shector. It'll sound better. :laugh2:

As for the neck pickup, if you play mostly rock with a distorted tone you'll probably like the 59N better than the Jazz neck. But if you like genuinely clean tone from your neck pickup you'll probably like the Jazz neck better...I do. They are very similar though. The Jazz has little more sparkle and upper harmonics and a little less bass than the 59N.
