Duncan Distortion Magnets

Hey all.

Does anyone know if the Duncan Distortion uses 3 magnets or just 1? I have a vintage one in my Rhoads, but I don't want to open it up to see. I like its tone compared to the JB that came out of the same guitar and was thinking to do a mag swap in the JB so I can return to guitar to its stock look but with better tone (The whole, logo on both pickups rather than only one thing).

Any info would be appreciated!

Should be one thick ceramic magnet. It's the Invader that has the other two outside the poles.

That's what I thought. If I can get my hands on the right ones, I like the idea of extra... I have a Full Shred that is awesome after having swapped the A5 for 3 ceramic.

Re: Duncan Distortion Magnets

Wouldn't a Distortion with 3 magnets be closer to a Black Winter?

JB and DD and Invader all same coils. Different mags/poles. Like the Custom and CC and C5 and FS are all same with different coils/mags.

Haven't dug into the BW. We can get the girl with the dragon tattoo on the case, if you'd like. [emoji6]

I still want to try a JB with ceramic spacers added. And hex screws instead of Filisters.

A JB with a standard size ceramic magnet might sound pretty cool and it would be any easy swap

JB with a regular ceramic is a Dokkenbucker.
