Duncan Distortion (SH-6b) in a '72 Tele Thinline - HELP!

Hey all,

So I ordered a sh-6b for my '72 Telecaster Thinline Reissue and I have a slight problem: The pickup is too small! I've never really installed a pickup before so I'm not entirely sure how to describe it but I do have some pictures.

The stock pickups have a 2-hole mounting setup, while the SH-6 has one in the middle. Plus the cutout in the pick guard is larger than the SH-6.

The picture in the middle shows what I'm talking about. I'm centering the pickup in the cutout from the pick guard; it shows the width of the pu being too small.

I'm not sure if anyone makes an adapter or something so I can mount this pickup. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

Welcome to the forum!

These look like they should do the trick.

Wow man that looks like exactly what I'll need.

You're a life saver!!

I would just buy a replacement pickguard from Warmoth, and stash the original away with the pickup. Those adapters look like you need to drill holes, so the original pickguard is junk if you ever want to go back.

True, however I don't know that I'm going to go back... even if I do I'd probably just order a whole new pickguard at that time then. Plus, I'd save some money going this way.
