Hey Guys im getting ready to make a pickup switch in my Shecter Hellraise (Mahogony body-Rosewood Fretboard). It currently has EMG 81-85-Great for modern metal Not so much for Modern Worship!LOL! The EMGs are to Thin and Muddy! Im looking for the perfect set of Humbuckers to give me Warmth-Brightness and Clarity- I want to beable to play Leads That Cut right thru like the EMGs but beable to have A perfect bright -clear yet warm rythym tone(Something that sounds great playing Big open Chords that are Mildly Dirty in the 2nd position) and Great cleans on the Neck- My style is Modern edge - with Ambience - Rock Solos - I tried the Jbs and jazz - Definately in the right direction but want something a little brighter and cleaner but still on the hot side. Definately considering PG for the neck- What is your guys take Between the DD and Duncan Custom for Bridge?

If the JB was in the "right direction" but you want your "leads to cut right through like the EMG's" , the DD will do it easily .
I have a custom made mahogany double humbucker tele and the DD saved that guitar , even outperformed the JB antiquity i had in it .
Solo's cut like a knife and chords remained nice and tight without any muddiness .
I use the DD/59 setup in that guitar and could'nt be happier .

I use a DD/59 combo in most of my guitars (mahogany necks and bodies rosewood boards) and it's a very versatile setup. If you'd like to stay active but have a better pickup combo, the EMG 57/66 is great. I use it in my 7 string for everything from metal to modern low tuned alt rock.
