recorded with a canon sd1000´s video a 3 min jam ,to show the love for the invader.my luthier put a capacitor to take off a little bass and things became much clearer.

played with a cort katana(schecter c-1 wanabe) to a small pratice amp,011 gauge strings.

satriani mixolydian arpegios and brazilian based tune...enjoy

Superb tone.

I thought during the video that you use a Dimarzio pup. Since they have this fatness but it's great to hear that this pup has some serious muscles :D

Re: duncan invader clip

sure can! i used the treadplate model(not the treadplate 2 that sound totaly like a bad rectifier...flubby).all eq flat(12 o clock)treble slighlty backed off(10 o clock) reverb and delay bout almost halfway up.the recording trick to sounding good is to put my little pratice amp right in front of me on my desk.on the floor sounds really bad.Cabinet modeing on with 4x12 closed back .

Before my tech modified the circuit cutting the bass a bit it was unberably muddy, and the trick acording to him to sounding so good is to leave the pikup height as low as possible for a really fusion type tone.

it suprasses the all mighty tom anderson H3 humbucker which alltough very good for everything had no tone what so ever(IHMO).the invader this way gives a very fat sound with clarity and the duncan tone we all love.

Re: duncan invader clip

used a pocket pod.ill put up my settings once i figure out how to work with the interface.

wonder how the xt or x3 sounds

Re: duncan invader clip

I'm going to have to try those settings tonight on my POD 2.0. Wonder if that's the same Treadplate they put on the Pocket Pod.

I'd be interested to try the pickup mod as well. I'm thinking your tech installed a capacitor to cut some of the lows? Did it go on the Tone Control and what the value of the capacitor was? I might also like to try that on an X2N I have.

Thanks for the info! Again, it sounds really good.

Re: duncan invader clip

im gonna have to look that one up for you,but from what i remember the capacitor goes on the tone control ,with no value modifications.a simple mod acording to him, easily removed even by a tech idiot as myself.

it doesnt change the tone drasticly ,just the exagerated bass response, feels alot like a custom custom with more bass and not as soft, more agressive, but not like the ceramic custom.

im in love

Re: duncan invader clip

news update,my tech told me he removed the capacitor before delivering my guitar back afraid id miss the bass...so the only mod(or better said non existant mod) is lowering the pickup height as low as possible.
