duncan sh6 or duncan designed hb103

Hi, I've got the chance to purchase either of these bridge pickups. How similar tone wise is the Duncan designed to the sh6. I know the hb103 is meant to be modelled on the sh6 but is close?

check out this link for some opinions on duncan designed pups. there seems to be a mix of people who can't tell the difference and others that can, but still generally find them reasonable pups. first question you have to ask yourself is probably how good is your ear to tell the difference.

fwiw I've just scored a few DD pups myself to try out, here's hoping they're good...

It's all about consistency.

All Seymour Duncan SH6 pickups will sound like you expect them to

But with a Duncan Designed, you could get a great one or you could get a lemon, since the materials and manufacturing process are not as tightly governed.

That's pretty much the hearsay around here.
