Dunlop Jerry Cantrell wah?

What are the opinions of this wah? I am considering replacing my Dunlop 95Q wah with the Cantrell wah. I am looking for a very fat and warm wah.

I like my 95Q and am used to it, have used it for ten years because it is optical and is auto on! Nice! However, wish I could mod it to be a little fatter and darker.

Didn't you already try one of these? I could be wrong, but I swear I remember you posting about it and not telling a difference in a band setting or something.

Re: Dunlop Jerry Cantrell wah?

Either way, I like the Bonomassa wah myself for what you are describing. I was let down by the Cantrell wah. Didn't sound as vocal to me... and I don't like external knobbies on my wahs lol. I actually run two wahs on my board at the moment. The JB before my OD and a Wilson Freaker wah after for weird synthy sounds and a totally different vibe.

Re: Dunlop Jerry Cantrell wah?

Yea it was ages ago and I was in the middle of trying different amps. I also only used it at one session. Not enough time.

Re: Dunlop Jerry Cantrell wah?

I don't do a lot of wah work but being in a 90s band I am using it more and more.
I hate having to switch on a wah rather than auto on but I may try it.
I don't use OD pedals ever so I don't care where the wah is.

Re: Dunlop Jerry Cantrell wah?

I had one and liked it much better than the crybaby from hell. Its nice and warm but doesnt have a big sweep to it.

Re: Dunlop Jerry Cantrell wah?

That's a wah I'm interested in checking out. Been using my GCB-95 from 1991 lately, which is modded pretty good too.

Re: Dunlop Jerry Cantrell wah?

It works well if you like a warmer tone and less piercing sweep.

Apparently the Zakk Wylde wie is very fat and thick with a broad sweep so I may try that.

Are you in as band? How is the cut?

Yep, a 90's cover band. It cuts pretty well but I'm normally using a Charvel w/JB so that's rarely a problem in the first place. I like that I can adjust the high end of the sweep as needed. Overall, it's a solid pedal and works well for the application.

Me too! 90s cover band. Send me a band link or facebook? Very cool. How old are you? I am 42.
