Dunlop Jerry Cantrell wah?

Re: Dunlop Jerry Cantrell wah?

Yep it's been very well received so far. We've been gigging since March of 2011, in a variety of cities/venues. Seems like more bands are doing 90's these days too. There seems to be quite a demand for it at the moment.

Re: Dunlop Jerry Cantrell wah?

again, I have this wah and recommend it papersoul ;)

all my wah songs are done with it, just mixed up a new one called "my third eye is lazy"

Re: Dunlop Jerry Cantrell wah?

I dont wanna hijack, but it has already been mentioned in the thread..

I dont like the shrill highs on wahs and adjusted my vox to roll some off. I think the JC may be about right, but I dont wanna surrender the range either.

How does it differ from a bonamassa? besides just the lower freq.. but I think the bonamassa is smooth and not shrill right??

can someone cite the diffs?? or a comparo??
thanks

Re: Dunlop Jerry Cantrell wah?

Wahs are the hardest pedal I have ever had to find. Sooooooooo diffcult finding one that sounds as I want, which is warm, fat and thick. Might try the Zakk Wylde Wah.

Re: Dunlop Jerry Cantrell wah?

The Cantrell is my favourite wah ever. I havent tried the Bonamassa but the specs make it sound a lot like my old Fulltone Clyde Wah and i prefer the Cantrell

Gonna stop at G Center on way home and grab a Cantrell for the weekend to test out.

Re: Dunlop Jerry Cantrell wah?

The Hendrix wah has a big fat bottom on it. Have you checked that one out?

No! That good, huh? Thanks!

Funny you mention hendrix because "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)" is one of my all time favorite wah tones next to Cantrell and Wylde, and not to forget Mike McCready who is another favorite of mine!

Gonna check out the Hendrix next! This is fun.

MMMMMMMMM....this might be great! Slash Cry Baby Classic which is tuned to a lower frequency!

This is mine and it really doesn't sound too much different from the others.

Some things I like about the Catrell wah is that it was designed for a guy who plays the style of music I play the most and has a very easy to use on - off switch, unlike some other pedals. This is probably the wah for me over the Slash, Bonamassa or Hendrix. :)

Thanks gents!

This guy does great reviews!

Re: Dunlop Jerry Cantrell wah?

I loved the JC wah. I wish I still had it but had to sell it. Like others have said, the sweep is as long. But I love that because I hate when the wah gets those piercing highs.

Re: Dunlop Jerry Cantrell wah?

The two wah circuits I liked best were the Cantrell and the Wylde, so I had a custom wah made that combined both. :D

I call it the "wow wah", or Barbara (as in Walters).

Re: Dunlop Jerry Cantrell wah?

What are the opinions of this wah? I am considering replacing my Dunlop 95Q wah with the Cantrell wah. I am looking for a very fat and warm wah.

I like my 95Q and am used to it, have used it for ten years because it is optical and is auto on! Nice! However, wish I could mod it to be a little fatter and darker.

I tested one of 'em about a month ago, in San Fran (Guitar Center), and i LOVE the tone.

Afer the Chicago Iron Works Parachute wah, this is by far my fav wah !!!

IMHO, the JC sig wah is deff fatter and DARKER than your ave wah !
