I played with a bass player years ago that used these. I’ve never tried them but I can’t really see why these would be better than the regular picks I’ve used for years.
I used to have a handful of them back in the ‘80’s or ‘90’s. I liked the concept of three picking surfaces, but really only used the side with the ridges on occasion to simulate a kind of 12 string sound when strumming certain songs. I really couldn’t get comfortable using the other two for some reason. My wife gave my last one to a friend’s daughter a few years ago and I haven’t tried to replace them since.
Four unique edges? I see three practical edges. So Dunlop discovered a fourth dimension in picks no one can see? Must be where it goes when it gets lost.
The bumpy side is for pick scrapes. I used them for a while but they're a little awkward to hold. I alternate between Maxi Grip Jazz IIIs and Dava Picks at the moment.
Not into the Dave picks. It’s a cool idea but doesn’t work for me. Regardless of the pick, I grip them all basically the same. To use the Dava properly, you have to move it around. Gripping a Dava near the back makes it more flexible, but doesn’t feel like a thinner pick to me. Also, I’ve never needed a different pick for a different part of a song.
