The custom set I ordered for my "Mad Cat". Dylan asked that I share with the interwebz about my experience with his company and product, so I will be making plenty of videos. Here is the first:

You missed the most important part!
How do they sound?!

Testing them this afternoon! Very excited!

Trying them later at the church, full volume:

I think they come very close to nailing exactly what I wanted. They sound sweeter and fuller than the Bill Lawrence T1/T2 set that comes in the Anniversary MadCat, but punchier and more Tele-like than the S1/S3 set that comes in the Reissue MadCat. There is very minimal feedback with high gain.

I will need to play them live before I can give a final verdict. However, I think the only thing I would change, I wish the bridge pickup was a little hotter. Dylan says with further height adjustment they may be exactly what I want so I am going to play with that a bit.

Thoughts on how they sound? I posted videos of the Keystones in another thread if anyone wants to compare.

Just a quick tip . . . you should never use a soldering gun for electronics. Those things are meant for plumbing. The AC voltage at the tip can fry electronic components and degauss magnets. Get an inexpensive soldering iron. ;)

Other than that, looks a sweet project. :)

We used a HAKKO FX-88 for everything except soldering the large group of ground leads to the back of the volume knob.

I actually dont like using the soldering guns for anything, but my tech likes his for larger electronics.

If it's got the sound you like, then you're done. From your sound clip comparisons, I think they sound hollow and cheap. Just my opinion. They reminded me of a cheap Asian guitar I had about 40 years ago. I think it cost $49.

Which clip are you comparing to which clip? I'm wondering if it is the recording.

If you also listened to the stock pickups, and the Keystones, which did you prefer?
