Earvana Nut... kind of a gimmick?

earvana nuts compensate for the deflection of the string when pressed down since that alters the tension. that's it. that's all it does. I spoke to somebody at earvana a few years ago and that is what I was told.

It's not a panacea but I have noticed an improvement. I've only run it with 9-46 and 10-46 strings in e standard or half step flat, though. Anything different and ymmv

I really like Earvana nuts on my Warmoth builds. Never had issues with different tunings. I also go with GraphTech, which is great for staging in tune with or without the Earvana compensation.

I tried a replacement Earvana nut for a non-Warmoth and I had issues staying in tune. Replaced with a bone nut on the Strat and had no tuning issues—user error is totally a possibility.
