Easy Out of phase with a 4PDT on/on?

Hello people !

So I bought a cheap ESP LTD, and I'm really happy with it.
Except for one thing, bridge pickup was swapped with something else (a Super Distortion, which is good and will do for now though I'd prefer a Seymour Duncan) but the wiring is definitely out of phase ! (middle position is weak and nasal)

So now I'll have to figure out what to do, which color goes where...
That's one thing... (it seems I can't find about ESP wiring colors, So trial and error for me)

But instead of completely removing this out of phase issue, I was wondering if I could simply use a 4PDT on/on to change pickup phase?
Or something like that?

Thank you !

Here's a phase wiring diagram.

Here's a wire color comparison chart.

It doesn't show the ESP, but it is the same as one of these, I'm not sure which. But it is not really necessary in your case if you want to add a switch for out of phase.
In your guitar, locate the wires from one of your pickups. The lead and the ground wires go to the phase switch as in the diagram above. If you're using a toggle switch, one position is in phase, the other is out of phase.

ps: you don't need a 4P2T switch, just a DPDT (2P2T) on/on will do the trick.

Re: Easy Out of phase with a 4PDT on/on?

Thank you very much ! You were very helpful.
Anyway, I figured it would be easier to change the phase of the Super Distortion.
So basically reverse red and green (better have good eyes there !)

And tada it works.

So, now about the switch, I only have spare 4pdt.

So what would be the best way to wire that according to you guys? Any feature I could add? (I only have stock push/pull split on this guitar)

Thanks again Guitardoc !

Re: Easy Out of phase with a 4PDT on/on?

Are you sure it's a 4P2T? Those are not very common switches. The switch in the diagram I included above is a DPDT. It has 6 solder lugs. Does yours look like that or does it have 12 solder lugs? If your switch really is a 4PDT it's ok, you just use 1/2 of it

I believe it is 4pdt on on, it's 4x3 (I got that from China for another project, in my small town there's no way to buy anything like DPDT or whatever, so I ordered a few things that might be useful, and I'm only left with one 4pdt)
It looks like this:

....
....
I ended up with the same conclusion: to use half (I'll probably use the "middle" and leave the edges as extra, maybe I'll find an use to it one day)

Thanks
