Yeah, im trying to get them within fifty miles of my location (great living in the Uk, its a small country, less trevelling) and i sorta bid on this.

I think the name of it is totally wrong for the head and i think the head is 80w not 160.....

google was my friend but my thought patterns don't help the way i search so what you guys know will be appreciated.

currently I am the high Bidder..... have i put too much down on it for what it's worth???

cause 1) I think there's a possibility i might win that???

2) it's the reserve in case i don't get this for £85GBP or less...

Am I mad?

Re: ebay Amp options.

Pretty much an MG. Definitely NOT one of Marshall's finest offerings. I wouldn't go higher than the price it's on at the minute.

Actually, I wouldn't have bid on it in the first place. :p But hey, whatever floats your boat.

If you haven't already played this amp then don't buy it.

I have tried many marshalls, so I know how they handle.

failing that, i might see about that ashton Bluetongue in the shop....

Re: ebay Amp options.

ok so i haven't got the custom.....

as for the marshall, do you think people will bid higher than that or not?

Whether they do or not, you shouldn't.

Dude, I got my Laney AOR for £200 (including shipping to Belfast from England). It's a 50 watt all-tube 1x12" combo that'll wipe the floor with an MG or any solid state amp by Marshall or most any other company. It's been gigged hard, run way too hot and even dropped down a long set of stairs and it'll still rip your head off.

If you really want this amp, then go for it. But it's not a great amp and you'll probably grow out of it sooner than you expect. There are much better deals out there, even if you do have to just hold off and save up a little more. It'll be worth it. Trust me.

EDIT: And yeah, there's still four days left in that auction. I highly doubt that the bid will stay where it is for all of that.

Re: ebay Amp options.

thats fine then. :)

Yeah, it just seems crap on ebay unless i have it shipped. I need something like a Large Vox or something

also anyone know about carlsbro amps from the 80's they any good?

Re: ebay Amp options.

I hope so!!!

EDIT: Old Carlsboro amps? Good for housing large rabbits or small dogs.

Lol take it that they are heaps of ****in **** then...

seen a Marshall Valvestate AVT100 combo for £160 buy it now, about a month running on it, we use those at college and id love to have it :p

its either that or finding £400 for that Ashton Bluetongue

Re: ebay Amp options.

Get a cheaper tube amp bro! Modeling is fine for playing in your bedroom but a tube amp is where it's at.

There are plenty of cheap solid tube amps.... Epi Valve Jr., The Pro Junior, Champ 600 for clean stuff, etc...

Re: ebay Amp options.

I saw an old '60s Bassman on Ebay recently go for £290. Granted, that's a little out of your price range and it was just the head and it was a little rough aesthetically...but it's not too far away from your means. And that amp would slay any sort of modelling/solid-state amp put out by Marshall or anyone else in...well, ever. Blow £200 on a cheap amp and you'll be saving up for a new one in no time. Get yourself a keeper.

I wish I'd had the money for that Bassman. :(

DEFINITES - Gain, Bass, Mid, Treble, Presence, Master Volume.
MAYBES - spring Reverb, Effects Loop Mix level.

Actually, some of the very best amplifiers in the world have fewer than five controls.
