eBay amp sale... Should I request FedEx with tracking?

Re: eBay amp sale... Should I request FedEx with tracking?

It is good to know you are covered, but it sucks to have a few days of anxiety. If they can prove it was fraud, there could be (federal) criminal charges.

Wow, that bites but at least they are taking care of you. Yeah, ebay dropped the ball on that one letting him open another account! So, I guess the amp search begins again(?).
I had my heart set on the SJ 2554 combo. If another comes up for a reasonable price, I may try again. I already have a SJ 2550 half-stack, so I'm covered.

Odd that they would permit someone with two prior acts to open a new account. Whatever... What is really insane, is that the seller is challenging my claim. :boggled:

that doesnt surprise me all that much, they are a scam artist and will drag this out as long as they can

Re: eBay amp sale... Should I request FedEx with tracking?

Isn't using USPS to commit fraud a federal offense?

Re: eBay amp sale... Should I request FedEx with tracking?

Glad this is being taken care of by ebay. It really sucks for new, honest ebay sellers but, personally, I would never buy an expensive item from a seller with no or very little feedback. I've only been burned once by an online transaction, ebay or otherwise. It was ebay, it wasnt a new seller and thankfully, it wasnt for much money. $**t happens. Live and learn. Edit ... I just thought of 2 more that got me. Both just a few bucks and the bank took care of them.

Mail fraud has been a federal offense for ages. But, in just doing some quick research, in 2016 they investigated all of 431 cases of mail fraud. That seems like a drop in the bucket relative to how much mail fraud must actually be occuring every year.

End of original post: Sorry it didn't work out for you though.

Edit: Just saw that a buyer of mine flips gear as well and has the pickups I sold him pretty misrepresented. Smh. Some people suck and are dishonest for a quick buck. Karma is a doozy.

Hopefully, you'll get your money back and he'll get his somehow.

eBay knows this person, so that alone should be enough. AMEX also provides an added layer of protection, so I'm confident about the outcome. This low-life sh!t-stain should be hanged, drawn and quartered, pissed-on then burned... Why eBay permitted him to challenge the dispute has me baffled.

Re: eBay amp sale... Should I request FedEx with tracking?

I'm still waiting on eBay to refund my payment. I spoke with an eBay again yesterday. The representative said; "...you should be covered by eBay buyer protection." WTF?

Re: eBay amp sale... Should I request FedEx with tracking?

That is probably them just covering for themselves not knowing the particulars of the case. This sort of thing sounds like what the Ebay protection is for. Paypal is another layer of protection, and so would be your bank, if you used a bank card.

You are right! eBay just called to notify us that the payment is covered. Woo-hoo! I will NEVER again purchase from a zero history seller. eBay also said that they are taking action against seller. If you ever see the name "Pinky McBurrows" on a PayPal form, you've been scammed!
