Just won this auction tonight, it's a Korean made Hamer Standard, about 10 years old, a couple dings but overall it's in great shape! It has upgraded Schaller tuners and GFS vintage '59 pickups, and comes with a Hamer hardshell case. For just under $340, I think it's a decent score. I'm hoping it's here in a couple weeks. Man I hate waiting on new gear!!

my sunburst is of a similar vintage. these are great quality guitars man. far better than what epiphone ever out from korea.

you will be very happy. I wonder if yours will have the fat 50s neck my sunburst has?

I find the waiting the most fun part! Then when that time comes, you open the box, then the case and aaahhhhhhhhh!!!! :)

Actually I find the waiting to be the worst part which is why I usually (temporarily) erase the memory of waiting for sth from my head, to spare me the suspense :9:

But yeah, the time when you are about to have it in your hands and taking it out of its' packaging is the greatest ;)

Beautiful (and I mean BEAUTIFUL) axe man, among other things I've been jonesing for a Hamer Explorer for quite some time :)

Grrr... my post got eaten (my phumble phingers hit something wrong)

Anyhoo... These are great bang for the buck. My MIC was prolly the best playing Non MIJ import I've had. They are also Alder and none of that fake mahognay crap. Great score. Congrats!

My only suggestion is to move the strap button location to the neck joint. As it is now, the balance will be bad and it will feel very akward.

Thanks for the compliments guys...the neck joint strap button is still there, they just added one on the side as well. I've tried a few guitars with the button on the neck joint and always found them awkward, hopefully one of these locations will work for me!
