-For some reason I really want one of these--They're almost identical to a real GibsonLesPaul JimmyPage--& they're distressed all to hell, WAY MORE distressing than you could ever do naturally...At first I hated these distressed guitars, but now I really want one...

You can see it on Ebay under "EDWARDS Guitars"--It's currently $950.00.

--It comes w/a Seymour JAZZ(neck) & a Seymour CUSTOM(bridge)--

--It has special electronics(push-pull knobs--I dont know)?? It weighs only 7.5lbs.

I wish I could post a pic of it.

HAS anyone seen these & what ya think??

Re: Edward Sykes-jimmypage Lespaul Copy"distressed"

I have one, and it is easily one of my favorite guitars! It is light, and very resonant -- great acoustic tone.

Edwards makes two versions of this, one with the JP wiring, and one with normal wiring. I have the one with normal wiring, but I have made a couple of changes -- I installed a push-pull pot for series-parallel, and I also shielded all the cavities. Oh, and I also installed the knob pointers.

Mine weighs 8.6 lbs. The one in the Ebay link says it is 7.9 lbs -- if that's the case, it is the lightest LP I have ever seen, and I'm a bit skeptical.

I would not say that they are distressed to hell -- actually they are done quite tastefully, as far the distressing goes. The "real" Gibson Custom JP model is much more beat up: http://www.themusiczoo.com/gibson1959jimmypagelespaulpilotrun9.htm

One important difference between the Edwards and the Gibson is the neck. The Edwards keeps the '59 style neck, while the Gibson has the super slim neck, slimmer than the '60s necks.

Jimmy page got or bought his Les Paul from Joe Walsh. I think the neck had been carved to make it thinner and Joe Walsh was not happy with the change. Jimmy, however, took to that guitar like a "turtle to soup"

-I wonder if EDWARDS makes the same JimmyPage Lespaul--UN-Distressed??

Re: Edward Sykes-jimmypage Lespaul Copy"distressed"

They do, but it comes with 59/JB instead of 59/Custom, and with green tulip tuners instead of gold kidneys, and, of course, no JP wiring option.

Re: Edward Sykes-jimmypage Lespaul Copy"distressed"

----Is there any other music store that sells EDWARDS besides KATANA or EBAY----

---There's not much of a selection at KATANA or ebay...

Re: Edward Sykes-jimmypage Lespaul Copy"distressed"

Well, no store in the US is going to sell Edwards -- they can't, Gibson would not allow it. You can email the Katana guy, and he'll get you any Edwards you want. That's what he told me once.

For the same price, you could also order from Ishibashi a Japan-only Epiphone Les Paul (Resporl) with laquer (Raccar) finish. There is no Epiphone like it in the US.
