Effects Pedal Users: What are your favorite effects pedals? I've never been a big effects pedal user but lately have been trying to be more openminded gearwise and explore more guitar product options that are available to me. So what are your favorite effects pedals?

I am so freaking in love with my Ibanez CS-9 reissue chorus. ITS AMAZING. Its a stereo, so two outputs, but they are somewhat different, so if you use it to split the signal into two heads/combos you could have an awesome tone or you can Y the A/B swtich for different variations of you tone. Two knobs - speed and width - AWESOME, they take the chorous effect from very elegant and subtle to overwhelming vibrating lush and shimer. It gives you somtimes the almost borderline, echoplex feel. Today I pluged my acoustic into it and than straight into the practice amp clean channel. Man I was blown away, just a gorgeous tone. Very, very, very, analog and very, very, very controllable, and a very quite pedal.

My setup is very simple at present. HBE Uno Most Clean Boost and a Thunder Tomate Analog Chorus.

Re: Effects Pedal Users: What are your favorite effects pedals?

I like octave pedals for solos to smashing pumpkins songs. My mom has an old mu-tron II phaser which I played around with growing up as well. I like the Danelectro spring reverb pedal as well.

I don't use them anymore though. Now, the only pedals I use are overdrive pedals. I don't like the Boss pedals... the metalzone sounds like crap, and the other ones sound great but for some reason I just don't feel close to them. My two favourite pedals are the mxr distortion + (the one I'm using is old with the script logo, I'm not sure if newer ones sound different) and the marshall Jackhammer. I use the Jackhammer religiously. If the mxr was noise-free I'd probably use it instead, but it's still a wicked little pedal.

Re: Effects Pedal Users: What are your favorite effects pedals?

I use them in a Boss ME-50, but they are the Boss BD-2, MT-2, Ibanez Tube Screamer, Boss Chorus Ensemble, Boss Delay Station. Once in a while I need Noise Suppression, Tremolo, etc, but not always.

Re: Effects Pedal Users: What are your favorite effects pedals?

Right now - the Line 6 Verbzilla! Lots of great sounding reverb models, all very tweakable. Sounds great in front of the amp or in the FX loop. Don't know how I ever managed without it :)

And the Carl Martin PlexiTone. Killer classic Marshall-style tones in a very versatile package. Crunch and High Gain channels plus a clean boost. Excellent!

Re: Effects Pedal Users: What are your favorite effects pedals?

Ibanez WD7 Weeping Demon Wah!It allows mo so much to do.it's incredible.
And for the Live situation the MXR 10 band EQ.Total control ,and cool headroom!

Re: Effects Pedal Users: What are your favorite effects pedals?

Boss DD 20 delay..........i just can't live without it...............

My boss CE 2 chorus and EH electric mistress are are also pedals i will never sell

Re: Effects Pedal Users: What are your favorite effects pedals?

My basic set-up looks like this :

Guitars -->Fuzz -->OD -->Trem -->Delay -->AMP

I might have more than one fuzz & OD on my board at the same time, but never use more than one of each at the same time, otherwise you get MudCity - and that is a bad place to live !!!

EDIT :

.... i sometimes use an EQ after the FUZZ to shape the tone/add some mids. But i am getting an EHX Graphic Fuzz soon, and will probably replace the EQ-stompbox for good ! (?)

I have 50 processors, and I am a big Boss fan. To me, the ultimate effect chain includes the MD-2, BF-3, and DD-20. The MD-2 lets you mix and match varying levels of overdrive and distortion; the BF-3 covers all kinds of modulation effects; and the DD-20 creates endless forms of reverb and delay.

rotosphere kicks ass, it does the swirly better than anything else ive tried

Re: Effects Pedal Users: What are your favorite effects pedals?

Hum ... favorite for what? OD/Distortion I like the SFX-03 (Twin Tube) from Duncan. Delay - I am liking the DD6 from Boss. Reverb - I am liking the Marshall Reflector. Compressor - I am liking the Marshall ED1. For a raspy, rough distortion I am liking the Rocktron Silver Dragon. But, there are so many good pedals it is really hard to say.

Re: Effects Pedal Users: What are your favorite effects pedals?

If I had to cut everything down to just a couple of pedals, I'd end up with my Boss PH-3 Phaser, Boss PS-3 Pitch-Shifter/Delay, and my Dunlop 535Q wah. Between those three pedals I can really get in the ballpark of any sound I'm looking for.

Re: Effects Pedal Users: What are your favorite effects pedals?

I have quite a bit, and I swap out stuff on my board constantly.

Lovepedal MagicBoy - phaser/vibe
Ibanez Tube Screamer - od
MI Audio CrunchBox - od/distortion
Skreddy Mayo - Fuzz
Ibanez AD9 Reissue - Analog delay
Boss DM3 - Analog delay
Guyatone MD3 - digital delay
Analogman Clone - Chorus
Teese Wizard Wah
Buddha Bud Wah
Catalinbread Semaphore - Trem

TC electronics tube primer...i swear by that pedal

Re: Effects Pedal Users: What are your favorite effects pedals?

I used to be such a pedal junkie... Russ would still call me one now but oh man, I used to be way worse when it came to gadgets!

I have favorites for each category, some of which I own and some I don't.

My current pedalboard is loaded with a Boss TU-2 tuner, a Crybaby 535Q wah with a Fasel, a Fulltone OCD, a Marshall Regenerator modulation pedal, and a Boss DD-20 GigaDelay. I haven't installed the Barber Tone Press compressor yet, and I have a Spinafied TS9 on the way.

Out of those, the Spina has yet to be field-tested and the Regenerator is the only "non-favorite" per se. It does a great job at getting several different modulation effects in one small box, though. The sounds could be a little better, but not by a whole lot.

The only pedal that I really dug but had to get rid of was a Fulltone Ultimate Octave that got sold to TGWIF. It was an awesome fuzz/octaver but I couldn't find a place to use it on the songs I was playing.

Re: Effects Pedal Users: What are your favorite effects pedals?

I'm a gear junkie, but I would be lost without what I consider to be my "basics":

Digitech Whammy
Mr. Crybaby super
EVH phase
Boss NS2
