Egnater Tweaker 88. Damn!

Just tried one of these babies with a Vengeance 4x12. It's amazing!
It took me awhile to get used to the controls, even having experience with the 15, but the tones I got out of it were phenomenal. Sounds great at low volumes too.
Cleans were great, very crystalline. Definitely not an afterthought in the amp design.
Distorted sounds... Wow! Right away I went from midscooped heavy tones to a UFO sort of tone, easily.
The onboard boosts I didn't try that much, but apparently that's where the tightest sounds are, if you want that.

It does remind me of the Tweaker 15, just with more of everything. :D It's inmensely adjustable and the tone has something in the mids that I really like, just like it's tiny brother.
I could live with it or a 40 and be happy about it.

EDIT: Forgot to say that it's not really a modern metal amp on it's own, despite what it's KT88 tubes might lead you to think.
It can do some mean classic metal tones, and I bet with an EQ pedal in the loop and the right guitar, it could get as tight and brutal as anything out there.

Tweakers are cool amps. I've done the 'tight' switch mods and even the tone stack switch mods to my egnater class amp to play around with the concept and it's really cool. Bruce makes and designs some cool stuff. And yes, KT88s are beast!

Here's a pic I took at the 2011 LA Amp Show, when the Tweaker 40 and 88 were introduced.

Both of those amps are good ones to keep an eye out for on the used market, because they were priced pretty low to begin with.
