EHX Holy Grail/'Verb records...

I just watched a demo of the EHX Holy Grail reverb and I'm thinking of picking one up. The demo made the Hall, Room, and "Flurb" (Flange+Reverb) settings sound like a cathedral in a stompbox.

I've been getting into 'verb related bands and particularly listening to Neko Case's Blacklisted which has a crapload of vocal reverb and guitar reverb (not Neko so much, but the guys in the band) and, geez, I love it.

Could you guys recommend some other Reverb pedals I might want to take a look at first and some records by your favorite artists that use 'Verb?

Thanks for the look, help, info!

The L6 Verbzilla is worth a Listen. I never heard it A/B'ed with the HG. But I did A/B it with my Princeton Reverb (Stock verb) and it held it's own very well.:D
BTW, I have a sound clip some where on the board. Use the search feature.:)

Re: EHX Holy Grail/'Verb records...

Up until I got the Holy Grail, I was never a fan of reverb pedals. The Holy Grail is one of my favorite pedals of all time, simply because I can use it for a lot of applications. It's got good headroom, so it doesn't splatter like most digital devices. The Flerb is basically worthless to me, but the Spring and Hall settings are very useable.

I've used the unit in FX loops, mixing board reverb, straight into the front of amps, and also as a bridge between inputs on plexis and bassmans. It's the best way to add reverb to those kinds of amps.

You might want to check out the Line6 Verbzilla. It's got a cool "octoswell" mode that gives you an almost organy sound.
