EHX Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai?

I am typically a rack effects guy. Other than a wah, all I usually have on the floor is a midi controller. In spite of that, I have been looking for a specific delay sound - so I have been reading up on some pedals.

Requirements in order of preference:
Sound quality
Quiet
Modulation on delays
Reverb on delays
Up to around 600 ms is plenty
Good features but simple operation, no need for crazy stuff

As I have begun looking, I picked up a EHX Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai while I was looking for the newer MXR Carbon Copy

So far so good, it compares well in sound quality to the G-Major and my Yamaha Magic stomp, it is quiet, has all the features, seems well built. One quirk, the manual states to run it in front - I tried it and it sounded like poo (poo does make noise). In the loop it shined much more like I expected it too.

Any other suggestions for delays with similar capabilities, or suggestions/experiences regarding the EHX?

WTF...has no one here used a delay pedal before? Where the hell are all the pedal freaks who typically like to argue about how awsome pedals are vs. rack gear?

My 30 day return time to GC is now one day shorter......

I don't have much experience with delay but I'm intriguied about this pedal as it seems like the pedal I will want to get for my board in the future so opinions are greatly appreciated on it.
