el34 amp head

im looking to get a low cost el34 amp head. Im definately looking used, and im talkin like $400-$500. I need it to be only 2 el34s, and im more so looking for suggestions of older amps. Like old single channel simple amps that were never got tremendously popular and still sound decent. I want an amp head that i can turn up and get some crunch from. Simple as that. Doesnt need to be the tone of the gods, just sound decent and not a total POS.

anybody have some suggestions/opinions/experience with some amps that might fit the description?

same recomendation, A laney AOR series 50watt (or even 100) tend to start aat around $150 on ebay. thye usually sell for a max of 400-500 if that.

The Mig 60 did use EL34 but the 30, 50, 100, 50H and 100H used 5881's...

Laney AOR series head, hot rodded JCM 800 tone and easily get one for 500 or less on ebay.

Keep an eye out for the new Peavey Windsor head. I haven't seen one yet, but they're supposed to be inexpensive.

Always search for used Marshalls that are beat up, then buy'em and retube them.

The Marshall 2100/2500's (early 900's) will do the trick perfectly and fit right into your price range if you look around. Talk to ErikH, he will fill you in with details!!!!!

You can get VERY high quality crunch out of them and they sound alot better than decent!!!! IMO, sounded better than my Marshall Slash Signature I had!!!! That is why I used to have it, the 2100 sounded better and won out!
