Electric with spanish/classical style headstock/tuners

I was looking at some nylon string acoustics earlier and was thinking about how utilitarian the headstock designs are with the strings not having much of a sideways angle to pass through the nut to the tuners. Has any company made an electric with a similar headstock design where the tuning pegs are built into the middle of the headstock?

This is how some Rickenbacker electric 12-string models squeeze twelve 'heads onto a compact headstock.

I think that method works well for low tension nylon strings. Steel string guitars seem to need more robust tuning systems.

I had a Yamaha Classical some many years ago
being young and not knowing much
I strung it with steel strings instead of nylon
the steel grooved the inner parts of tuners rapidly
and the increased tension made the neck bow badly

while it sounded incredible
it was almost unplayable

I played a used Godin Multiac nylon electric that sounded phenomenal. I personally couldn't justify the price tag but I think it is a very cool guitar.

EDIT: You were probably thinking steel string electrics and not nylon...Steinberger guitars & basses completely skip the whole headstock thing. lol
