Electrical problems

I'm working on a "super strat" style guitar. Single, single, humbucker. I've tried two humbuckers and both refused to work. The two single coils are OK. I switched from a JB in the bridge position to a 59. I'm using just a volume and no tone. I'm out of ideas for what to do. When I try to fix something it just seems to get worse. There is now an issue with the jack as well as the humbucker. I know the pickups are good, there is just a flaw in my wiring somewhere.

Pictures would definitely help.

Re: Electrical problems

I Just found out I've been using the wrong wiring diagram :( I will re solder everything and update if there are still issues.

Re: Electrical problems

Also, check the pickups with a multimeter just to rule out that they might be an issue. Chances are that they are fine, but check first before you add more frustration.

Re: Electrical problems

I don't know how to use a multimeter.
Also if anyone has advice for soldering a 59 humbucker with the different style of wire that would be appreciated:)

Re: Electrical problems

That attachment is not working.

Do you HAVE a multimeter though? If not, you should if you are going to continue to solder. It is the #1 diagnostic tool.

Re: Electrical problems

Yes I have one. Just don't know how it works.
I have everything connected expect the humbucker. It's the old type with a single wire.
