Electronic Water Damage.

So we just had our upstairs neighbour's air conditioning unit fail quite spectacularly, resulting in a whole lot of water leaking through our ceiling into our living room. Right on top of my Line 6 Pod XT Live, which was plugged in but not switched on.

It's been dried with a towel and is currently sitting upside down, at an angle, with a fan blowing air on to it. As far as I can tell not too much water got inside the casing, just whatever managed to seep in the cracks between the switches. I'm going to give it several hours in that position to get as much water out.

Is there anything else I can do? Anyone have similar experiences to share?

Re: Electronic Water Damage.

i'd say take the cover off and leave it for a few days. Make sure it's completely dry before you turn it on.

Re: Electronic Water Damage.

+1 .Dry it out as thoroughly as possible. At least 24 hrs or more.

a fan blowing air on to it.
I hope that's not a HOT air fan.[fan heater]Use a low heat setting if it is.
Try using a haidryer on it if you can find one.DON'T use a hot setting.Use a low setting and blow warm air through it.

Re: Electronic Water Damage.

Flush it out with rubbing alcohol. The alcohol binds the water and takes it with it on the way out ;)

Re: Electronic Water Damage.

It was just a regular fan. I opened it up, just a few drops inside. I think it'll be okay.

Thanks guys.
