Electronics for woman tone

So when I had my Seth Lovers installed. When I rolled the tone all the way, a bit of the treble was rolled off but not much. I am wondering what I need to know in order to not have the same problem again. I guess I want to be able to purchase the proper electronic hardware in order to make sure my guitar tech does it correctly this time.

Thanks

Re: Electronics for woman tone

The recipe for 'Woman Tone' that I've seen circulated around (but not tried myself) is a .022mfd tone cap for the bridge and .015mfd for the neck. But I've done fine with standard .022 caps on both tone pots and only turning the pot down to where it sounds right.

bigger caps will roll off more treble. .02 is the smallest id use, .047 would probably be better

What do you have in there now??

500k pots and .022uF caps was what Clapton had in the SG.

But the guitar is only a portion of the tone - the rig is part of the equation.

I can't imagine that any regular setup couldn't do a decent job.....a different cap value might roll of fractionally more, but not more treble, just roll off the same amount to fractionally lower down the frequency spectrum IIRC.
