Re: Eleven Rack any good??

Jolly seems to use one to very good effect, check out his clips in the Tips n Clips forum.

Re: Eleven Rack any good??

Got a feeling the Eleven rack might be more versatile. Anything wrong with it? That seems like a lopsided trade.

Thanks, T.O.

I've got two HT-5 combos, and I'd much rather have an Eleven Rack. It's wonderful for recording, and it sounds great with a power amp through 4x12 cabinets. I'm with Demanic.....make sure there is nothing wrong with it.

All of the guitars and bass were recorded with the Eleven Rack on this stuff of mine.

Thanks!!

You can't download any more amp models. Mine came with the expansion pack. Be sure and ask him if the one he has for sale has it. However, there are some websites where guys have a lot of their patches available for download. I've never dl'd any of them though. There's tons of things in there to help you get different sounds.... the different amp models, speaker cabinets, mics, mic placement, effects, etc....

Re: Eleven Rack any good??

Awesome thanks! He said it had a Diezel Herbert, jcm 800,triple rec, mark V and a bunch more so idk I'd its a newer one or old lol

Re: Eleven Rack any good??

I have one. It is OK but mine is really noisy. I am not sure why, it may be the room or the power source although I have a furman power conditioner and I think I have eliminated possibility of ground loops, etc.

I will say that the recorded guitar sounds are pretty solid overall. Good for a modeler, in my opinion. Wide variety of classic amp tones and FX. It kind of sucks for bass; the best plugin I could find was a bassman. You will probably want to jack around with the presets quite a bit. Another irritating thing about it is that when recording, it puts the input gain really low by default. I like my stuff to hit hard, just shy of clipping so I always have to pad it a ton to get it where I wanted it. I think it's a good tool for guitar players who want to record demos, home studio, etc. which is what I got it for. Also, ProTools may not be everyone's cup of tea. I am used to it but it can be a PITA if you are new to it.

Re: Eleven Rack any good??

Also my version is an older one and didn't have all those amp models you mentioned, so the one you are getting is likely an improvement or has a later firmware/software revision.

Re: Eleven Rack any good??

I remember when they first came out and everyone was crapping their pants about how amazing it was and when i tried it i thought "Wow digital modeling has come a long way." And now they're selling for less than half of what they used to cost and everybody who crapped their pants over Eleven is currently crapping their pants about Kemper. Personally, I'd wait a year or two for the Kemper stuff to be cheap as dirt and let the digital amp crowd crap their pants about the next trendy computerthatdoesampstuff.

It has the expanded pack then. Mine has those models, but there isn't a Diezel.....at least not that I know of.

Re: Eleven Rack any good??

Is the company still around? Check out other forums- i seem to remember a lot of threads about frustrations with it.

Re: Eleven Rack any good??

I love my Eleven Rack! It works for guitar and it is awesome for bass guitar. At first I was not fond of it, as it sounded really digital. The secret is the parametric eq; it really helps dial out that digital raspiness that seem to plague digital modelers. I would also highly recommend getting the Singtall presets. As far as trading the HT-5 for it, that is really a personal preference, but if it were me I would do it in a heartbeat! Granted I have a couple of tube amps and couple different cabs, so I wouldn't need what the HT-5 offers.

Hopefully that helps you out some.

Cole

If you can play, you'll love it. Lots of sounds available. If you can't play, you can use it as a scape goat...
