Ya know that annoying buzzing sound you sometimes get... You get it when your guitar isnt earthed very well! In certian pickup positions my Fat Strat seems to make that buzzing sound! Im wondering weather you guys have any ideas on how to eliminate bad earthing noises! I hear lining out your pickup cavity with copper tape can work! Anyone have a clue? I wanna be prepared for when I upgrade my Fat Strat with my JB and 2 Cool Rails! Im working on the ultimate tone machine!!

Please advise me guys!

Re: Eliminating Feedback!

Once you have your new pickups it may be OK, I'm pretty sure you shouldn't need any extra shielding, just make sure eveything is grounded properly when you put in your new pups.

Re: Eliminating Feedback!

Your speaking of 60 cycle hum in a Strat...... get used to it they all have it. There are some noiseless single coil PUPS out there now, but IMHO they don't have 60 cycle hum, but they also don't sound very good. An easy way to make this more tolerable is to have a reverse wound PUP in the middle position. This way when you are in either out of phase position (2 & 4) it will cancel out the Hum. I have a Atrat with TEx Mex PUPS in it the middle is Reverse wound and it does cancel out the Hum. If you are trying to eliminate all the hum.... I don't think you will succeed. All single coil pups generate alittle hum!
