Elixir Polywebs

Hey hey!

For those of you who've used 'em, does anyone think Polywebs make your guitar sound muffled, like the "blanket over it" tone? Just curious.

Re: Elixir Polywebs

Not in the least.

They sound like two week old strings right off the bat, and remain stable for longer. There's none of that super bright new string sound on the electric, although on my acoustic the polywebs are still pretty bright, and in fact I worry that the coating will make them too bright for too long.

The "nano webs" are like half poly web / half regular guitar strings, they wear out faster, initially sound brighter, like any generic electric guitar string. The poly webs also feel nice, not quite as much of that steely feel on the wound strings, they feel smoother

The only downside is that the strings rust more noticeably where the coating rubs off, so instead of somewhat uniformly tarnished strings, after a few months of use, some areas of the string will seem new and shiny while other parts looks considerably more rusted. For me that tends to happen just past the 12 fret, where I play a little more aggressively.
