Emg-60 in the bridge?

Has anyone tried it?

After hearing how it sounds in the neck i'd like to hear it in the bridge, BUT my EMG's are 60neck and 89 bridge so i can't just swap em like a regular set.

Im guessing it'd sound awesome. I think its a little muddy/overlybassy in the neck.

Re: Emg-60 in the bridge?

if your emg's have the quick connect then you can swap them quite simple and since no emg is specially designed for a specific position it's worth trying(ok,the 60 is mainly for neck use). I will try sometimes(all my emgs are quick connects) and tell you guys about it.

Re: Emg-60 in the bridge?

My 60 isn't bassy in the neck at all however, I do have it set fairly low.

It sounds very single coil-like to me so I dont' know how it would sound in the bridge if you like a nice solid strong humbucker type tone.

Re: Emg-60 in the bridge?

Hey Mephis would it be possible for you to record me a clip with the 89b/60n I've been thinking about getting a set of those.

Re: Emg-60 in the bridge?

Sorry, I dont have anything except a teamspeak mic to do any kind of recording, and I might as well play unpluged if im going to do that.

Anyway, Has anyone tried the emg-60 in the bridge? Have soundclips?

He has an 89 in the bridge....it uses more wires.

not really newer 89s have the same quick connector(looked at it in my own guitar and emgs website says same thing)

Re: Emg-60 in the bridge?

what he means is that it gets wired for the dual mode function, the 89 that is. since the 60 is only a single function humbucker it wouldn't be wired up properly with the same wiring scheme as the 89.
