emg 81 neck vs emg 85 neck??

okay i've got my mind on getting a pair of emgs for my schecter c1 blackjack... for sure i want to get an 81 neck because i like how it sounds and the overall feel for the pickup... but for the neck i'm a little shakey.... i can't decide between the emg 85 or the 81? what do you guys think? any suggestions???

I've never used the 85 at all, but I like the 81 for neck or bridge. 18 volt mod is a must, however. (I'm back on the "I like EMGs" side now )

85 has more lows and is more buttery than the 81 in the neck or bridge spot.
I like the 60 or 81 in the neck

The 81 is more agressive and cutting, the 85 is smoother and more rounded.

I prefer the 81 in the bridge for standard tuning, and the 85 for detuned.

My suggestion, if you're gonna have the 81 in the bridge, which will sound sweet, go with the 85 for the neck, you never know when you'll want somethin real smooth and bluesy.
