It is the older style which needs to be soldered to the push-pull pot. The pickup comes with 1 push pull and 1 regular volume/tone pot.

Just to clarify, the 89 does not come with the clip-on connector at all. It's always been hard-wired; I suppose because it needs the push/pull pot to function.

Cool, I didn't realize they changed it. Too bad it appears to be a different connector type than the rest of the line though and not easily swapped with another model like the 81,85, etc. Looks like it's still going to require soldering to swap them out.

Could be, but worth it!

This thing is one fine pup. Single coil operation is lovely, and humbucker operation destroys. What else do you need?

Warm up that soldering iron!

Indeed that would be great if that was the same quick connector with the emg81/85 uses I love 89's :smokin:
