EMG AfterBurner question

As best I can tell, the EMG-AB, when off, works like any 500k vol pot.

But when you push it "on" it provides boost. My question- when "on", at about what vol knob setting would it be about the equivalent of a normal pot at "10" ?

Re: EMG AfterBurner question

i havent had one in a while but on mine it did nothing when off. when on it boosted the signal as you turned it up.

so to answer your question, 0

is it possible yours is wired incorrectly?

Re: EMG AfterBurner question

I don't have one, just considering it.

I was hoping that I could have it on a mid setting (like 5 or so) and that would be the equivalent of "10" with a passive pot, and then anything above that would be "overdrive".

Anyone else have an AB? If not, is there anything else made that does like what I describe?

Re: EMG AfterBurner question

I just put one in my Jackson, it will do what you are talking about.

When the knob is pushed down it doesnt do anything, so you can just turn your volume pot up to 10 like normal. Then just set the afterburner knob to how much extra boost you want and pull out on the knob when you want it to kick in.
