EMG capacitor values?

Can you use a regular .022, .033, .047 cap from the volume to the tone?
I know they only have a 25k volume pot so I wondered if using a regular cap size is ok or if it has a weird effect? Does the cap value have to be drastically less because of the smaller value volume pot?

Re: EMG capacitor values?

I have a set out of a guitar right now but cannot read a value on it. I will see if I still have the schematic.

IMO on paper, you should be able to use any cap you want! Its just a device to bleed highes to ground! Should make any difference with actives??? Treat the cap like it has passives in there!

Re: EMG capacitor values?

I tried a few different caps but they seem to have a different effect on the sound of the guitar compared to the same experiment with 2 other gibsons with passives.
