EMG devices

Anyone have any experience using EMG's add-on devices with passive pups?

I am looking at EMG's AB (Afterburner)

i have used the ab with a set of kinmans. it worked exactly like what it said. a straight output boost as if you installed a master volume. the downside is the hiss/noise when it goes beyond 3/4 of the pot.

I installed an AB in a friend's guitar, and it sounded pretty damn neat if you're into that high output / high gain stuff.

I don't know if it's any help, but I use a SPC with active EMG pickups and I quite like it. It makes a real difference, and gives an otherwise simple setup I have a lot more versatility.

I have used the SPC with passives! Its like hooking up nitrous to your guitar!

I personally didnt think it made a bucker fatter like the description said, it sort of made it a bit more full sounding but, added alot more output! It sounded like taking your pickups sound and turning it up to 11!!!

I had this in my Jackson with Bill Lawrence XL500 and L-500C and it made it even crazier!!

I put together a Flying V for JB From Hell with a Duncan Distortion set in it and a SPC. One of the meanest and best sounding metal setups I have ever heard!!! Its like the SPC and DD's were made for each other!!

^ Yeah, what he said After playing that guitar for about a month with the SPC cranked, I tried turning it down, and the DD sounded hella weak.
