EMG Pa2 with passives

Hi guys, I'm wondering how the EMG Pa2 would sound with passive pickups. Would they make PAF style pickups sound like say, an EMG 57?

The PA2 might work with passives, but the Blackout preamp is designed to work with passive pickups.

I've used it, it's just a clean boost, doesn't make the pickups active like the Blackout preamp does

Yeah, but I don't want the blackout preamp because it'll make the pickups sound like Blackouts.

The Blackout preamp doesn't make a pickup sound like a blackout.
