EMG wiring confusion

I'm needing some help on wiring up a H/S/H setup with EMG

Looking around in the diagrams they have on their website the only 3 pickup diagrams they have is H/S/S or S/S/S.
So I had the idea that the signal goes in and out the same way with a pickup weather it's a single coil or a humbucker
But the question is: Looking at this diagram, might be my best bet if i want a master volume and master tone but rid of that third pot and have the orange coloured wire being the one to the jack, good idea or will I have to have 3 pots?

For straightforward MV, MT operation, the cable shown in orange is redundant.

The white output cable from the output jack connects to the tone pot where the "orange" cable would have gone.
