emg zw 81/85

hey guys just got a new guit fiddle and its has the zw set 81/85 the tone is nice but want more out of them. can you run without the tone control on them? if not im thinking of swaping them out with the ahb1 set or the ahb3. the guitar is a schecter solo 6 hellraiser special, mahogany body maple neck. i run a scooped tone for my band. i want alot of punch, good voicing and clearaty. any advice? thanks
