EMGs + Marshalls sound great [80s hair metal content]

Obviously we all know that, but when I was starting out EMGs were in the middle of an overswing/overcorrection to being "bland", "strident" or just "tinny"

Well, I'm using the 85 and two SAs and I love them very much.

I have to set the pickups much lower than I usually see EMGs set though. Have to make it play nice with the rest of my rig lmao

Reb Beach does (or at least did) the same thing:

The configuration of this guitar is very close to yours, and you can see that the pickups are hardly above the pickguard.
