Eminence Texas Heat vs Tonkerlite

So am working again on getting a custom cab (would be a pair later) and need to choose the speaker. The only stock eminence I have found so far are the Texas Heat and the Tonkerlite. Which of these you think is the most versatile to play everything from clean to blues, to hard rock to metal? And what would you think is the best genere to play for each of these speakers? Thanks in advance.

I do have a lot of options with Celestions since there is more stock around here but I am not sure Celestions are versatile enough, I know they are great for rock but not sure if there is a versatile one or how good can be for cleans or blues.

PD: This is my rig: 1 Strat with SSL5,SSL1, SSL1, charvel with distortion set (soon to become JB-SSL1-YJM Fury), AMT SS-20 preamp and ISP Stealth Power Amp.

depends on the amp, but if it is easy to get celestions then the g12h creamback would handle all of it.

I love the Eminence cv-75 myself best speaker I ever heard just wanted to throw in my two pennies :)

Good to know, but I had read the versatile Celestions were Seventy80, G12T-75 and Superlead 80. I don't mind trying a Creamback.

cool. Having said that tho...i am a big fan of the texas heat in any amp above 25 watts. Its got a thick low end like all the good american speakers, but it also has a really gutsy midrange when pushed. Its also one of the least efficient speakers in the eminence lineup so you can crank your amp tubes an extra knotch or two louder than you might get away with in a club if you were to use something loud and present like a g12H or something.

Re other celestions...i have not tried a 70/80, but the creamback is a much nicer speaker than the g12t. The 12T is pretty much the quintessential 80s closed back metal tone with big bass and sucked out mids with a buzzy top end. The g12H style sounds much better at lower gains and to me just sounds like the ideal hendrix tone. Big, bold, clear and uncompressed. The creamback version is a little thicker in the mid and marginally less present in the top end. It still has that characteristic tone tho.

comparing texas heats to 12h creambacks would be:
texas: less volume, warmer, thicker. Like the classic american tones without the icepick or any flab.
12h: louder, more present, more 'edge'. Like the classic late 60s/early 70s big rock sounds.

both are great tho. Both have bags of headroom too.
