Should I do -

2 V30s - Which I already have
2 G12H's - which I already have
V30/G12H
G12-65/Gold - don't own a gold and this would cost a lot.
2 Greenbacks

Which would you choose?

I like to do ALL kinds of music.

I DO already have a Shiva combo shell 1x12 with 2 V30s. I thought of going for variety, but I must admit - V30s have NEVER let me down for ANY style of music incl Jazz / R&B

Vintage Avatar 2x12 Closed back is the cab design.

I say try the v30/G12h combo just to see. I have a shiva also and am running it through my recto 2x12 w/v30's until i pick up a bogner OS 2x12. I'd be interested to hear what you think of it through a different spkr setup.

try it !

I tried my Bogner 2x12'' with Vintage 30s and while I liked it, I liked the mix of a Classic Lead 80 and Vintage 30 in it better. 2 CL80s seemed like too much for me. Right now I use my Shiva with a 1x12'' CL80 cabinet (for band practice) and a 4x12'' w/ V30s (live with a band or by myself at home).

The Classic Lead 80 is a very articulate speaker, but it can be a bit harsh in the high end if it's not being pushed. I generally like it either by itself or paired with the more attenuated high end of the Vintage 30. Vintage 30s by themselves are good sounding (the best sounding speaker for the Bogner Shiva IMO), but I like not pushing them too hard to keep clarity, so that's why I like them in a 4x12'' cabinet.

Good to see you around '73 Marshall ;)

Yeah, I never jibed well with the plastic-y kinda highs in the CL80, and some stages don't allow you to even get loud these days.

I question the G12H for volume reasons as well.

I love the G12-65, but it doesn't blend well due to low dB sensitivity.
