It can do metal, but not extreme metal. the blackmore is more of a rock amp that will do tight aggressive thrash sounds. it's a bit darker and more loose than most other Engls.
Any specific style of metal you want to play with it?

The Blackmore can get as light or as heavy as you need it. although, it is definitely more ideal for Thrash metal, and less Ideal for "Super duper scooped, absolutely Zero Mids and a **** load of bass" Death metal. It simply has less bass on tap than its brother the Savage and its cousin the Powerball; but don't let that fool you into thinking you can't get heavy as hell itself with it.
