Engl Score!!! Partner for my Screamer 50!

I've been thinking about an extension cab for my Engl Screamer 50 combo and while surfing the other day, came across the Sound Control (British chain of music stores) end of line sale. The Leicester store had an Engl 1x12 pro cab, 1 only, at a great price so I jumped on it and it was delivered today. The price was an amazing £199 - 25% off!!!
So for little more than a particle board Marshall 1912, I got a 1x12 ported cab made of 14 ply siberian birch and fitted with a Celestion Vintage 30 to match my combo. I've just tried the set up at low volume for a short while, but the bottom end really kicks and the sound is much fuller. Can't wait to try out my new rig at mt gigs this weekend. :beerchug: Here she is.......

I see that you use the C-5 in some guitars. How do you like it in the HSS config. with the SSL-6's? I'm always trying to figure out the best HSS setups, and haven't tried that one yet.

Joe, the C5 is surprisingly good in a HSS setup with a Floyd even with it's relative lack of mids and with the SSL6, it's my favourite set up. I've got the Schecter set up so I can split the C5 and when it is split, it's compareable to a good hot Strat, nice warm tones with a bit of extra sizzle.

Lol!!Thats the doorway into my hall, but yeah, I know what you mean. I got home from work and dived straight into the box, pulled out the cab, set it up and whipped out the camera straight away!! New gear rocks!!!:headbang: o

Where's the first gig? I used to be stationed at Boulmer and my second daughter was born in Ashington! Your setup looks superb.

Wow!!! small world stevie!!! First gig's in Hexham, 2nd in Morpeth. I take it you are/were RAF mate??? When was your little girl born - you might have been in hospital at the same time my little ones were born!!!!!

Well, It's more 'vintage' voiced than a Powerball, but still plenty hot!! If I need a bigger sound, I can run the Screamer through my Marshall 4x12's (I kept 'em - you never know when they might come in handy!!!!!!!!:laugh2: ).

hows that screamer 50 sound? could you give liek a general description of it and for like what music you play? im torn between getting a higher gain amp like the screamer (been lookin at it on ebay for a while) or a nice bluesy amp like a fender deluxe reverb or similar. ( i tend to play both styles often) hows the cleans on the screamer too?

oh and nice tuner btw.
