Hi ..

I have a washburn x50 proq with a CC in the neck and i just can get enough trebele like i want .. is this a probelm with the pickup mayb or my cube 30 amp ( i use mostly the metal stack .. ). the guitar has maghony body .

tnx

Re: enough trebele ..

The cc has a high frequency roll off which renders it quite unfocused for a neck position.Indeed changing the magnet to a3,a4 or a5 will give you much more treble.Specs for your guitar say cc bridge and '59 neck(????).

Re: enough trebele ..

Its becasue you have a CC in the neck! One of the last pickups that should be used in the neck position becasue it is a warm pickup in the bridge position so, it is going to be very thick and dark in the neck (no treble)!

Re: enough trebele ..

lol ... i was confused .. the CC is in the bridge and not in the neck like i wrote .. in the neck i got a 59

sorry..

Re: enough trebele ..

Ok...so are you having trouble out of the neck (59) or the Bridge (CC)? If you are looking for a slightly brighter version of the CC swap the magnet out from an Alnico II to an Alnico III and you will get a slight increase in treble or you could try a different pickup all together. If you are finding the 59 not bright enough try a Jazz in the neck.

Re: enough trebele ..

actually, i like the 59 int the neck for those fat solos .. but the probelm is thhat the sound that i'm getting out of the CC in the bridge is to much similar to the sound of neck , but only thiner . when it comes to playing chords the sound of the cc is kinde choked and with not much trebele to give you that crunchy sound.
